Are you still able to work and in what kind of conditions?
Yes. We have no problems working this way because we’ve been working from our homes for the past 15 years. It’s proved more convenient and productive but we do miss the face-to-face contacts and meetings. Zoom is not a permanent solution.

If you were forced to cease operating/close your shop, how are you preparing to get back into business?
That is unlikely. We are financially conservative and have adequate reserves to ride out the pandemic. Our staff remain in full employment. Our retail clients are large, secured by long-term contracts, and are taking the opportunity to plan for the future. For the database, we’re trialling as we speak an innovative upgrade that turns any combination of data into pie, bar or trend charts. We’re trialling too an enhanced new Match It fragrance finder for release in February.

How, in your opinion, will your business change when we get back to a new sort of normality?
We anticipate that online eCommerce will become a key priority for fragrance retailers, who until now have concentrated most of their efforts behind their in-store sales and foot traffic. We were the first to create an online Ecommerce online finder, for Beauty.com in 1999. We are now the global leader in eCommerce solutions and In the post-pandemic era, anticipate increased demand for our services and expertise.
